Painting Style
Jack's classical training in landscape architecture, as well as art, allows his paintings to exhibit an architect's eye for order, perspective, composition and balance. Jack paints a blend of stately neoclassicism with an overlay of soft Impressionism, primarily in a refined, en plein air style of color and light. His colorful paintings portray architectural space, depth, and life. His current painting includes diverse and vibrant "city-scenes" of cafes, restaurants and street life in Washington, Manhattan, Chicago and Rome, among many other cities. He travels extensively and paints noteworthy scenes in both urban and rural settings, from the French and Italian countryside to the New England coast and New Mexico's high mountain desert.
